Purpose of Position

The Pricing Manager is a keyposition within the finance organizationof FlightSafety(a Berkshire Hathaway company).The Pricing Manager willbe responsible fordeveloping, analyzing, and managing cost and pricing strategies for government proposals for FlightSafety Simulation, working closely with FlightSafety Defense. This role ensures compliance with all applicablecompany policies andprocedures,regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). The Pricing Manager partners with business development, contracts, finance, and program management teams to develop competitive, compliant, andaccuratepricing submissions.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Directs,oversees, andparticipatesin the preparation of all price proposals ensuring consistency, accuracy,and timeliness of all submissions while meeting the requirements of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)and FlightSafety'sdisclosure statement(s).
  • Works closely with the Pricing Manager for FlightSafety Defense in an initiative to align pricing strategies between FlightSafety Defense and FlightSafety Simulation.
  • Communicates with technical and operational personnel toensuretimelyandaccurateaccumulation ofdata inputs and associated artifacts for proposal submission.
  • Oversees the entry of pricing information into the pricing system andassistsin the preparation of a complete andaccuratepricing volume for submittal to FlightSafety's various customersin accordance withgovernment regulations.
  • Ensuresaccuracy and completeness of all cost proposals prior to submission to the customer.
  • Providesstrategic pricing guidance to improve competitiveness whilemaintainingprofitability.
  • Supervisesand mentorsa team of Pricing Analysts, providing guidance on proposal development, cost modeling, and compliance with FAR/DFARS and company policies.
  • Coordinatesand supportsaudits/reviewswith Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)andDefense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)oncost proposal, post award, estimating system,and others.
  • Monitorschanges in government acquisition policies and pricing trends to inform internal stakeholders.
  • Assistswith the development and validation of any Cost Estimating Relationships and/or Parametric Models.
  • Establishesandmaintainsestimating system policies and procedures in coordination with businessdevelopment and others in the finance organization.
  • Assistsinmaintainingaccounting system standards and policies and provide directionregardingstandards and policies to department personnel.
  • Travel, asrequired.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or related field.
Minimum Experience
  • 8+ years ofexperiencewithin the Financial Management field with an emphasis on government cost accounting and pricing

  • Significant relatedexperience at a major defense contractor, DCMA, or DCAA

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong FAR, particularly Part 15, knowledge
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Syteline, and/or similar financial ERPs
  • Working knowledge of ProPricer and/or similar software
  • Working knowledge of US Government contract accounting requirements, GAAP, DCMA, DCAA, CAS standards, etc.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficient with the full Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and meet the needs of internal and external customers
  • Action and results-oriented: set strategic goals and achieve those goals in a performance driven culture
  • Strong adaptability, communication, organization, and analytical skills
