POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a VP, Commercial Business Development Marketing to lead marketing execution and events programming in support of our commercial leasing team's efforts across the National Landing office portfolio. This role is central to how prospective tenants, brokers, and the broader market experience our commercial platform. The right candidate is an exceptional communicator and high-caliber executor - someone who can orchestrate complex, multi-stakeholder tenant pursuits and large-scale events with precision, urgency, and meticulous project management. This is a marketing position reporting to the Managing Vice President of Marketing that provides direct support to the commercial leasing, development, and asset management teams. WHAT YOU'LL DO Large Tenant Pursuits In support of the commercial leasing team, orchestrate end-to-end marketing execution for major office tenant pursuits, including Fortune 500 requirements, government-adjacent users, and built-to-suit opportunities. Produce compelling, tailored pursuit materials - proposals, presentations, tour experiences - on tight timelines, coordinating with the leasing, design, construction, and legal teams. Serve as the marketing lead in prospect tours and presentations, translating complex development programs into clear, persuasive narratives. Coordinate closely with state and local economic development officials and incentive programs as part of large-scale pursuit efforts. Manage budgets, timelines, and vendor deliverables across concurrent pursuits with a high degree of organization and proactive communication to leadership. Events & Programming Plan and execute commercial marketing events that advance the leasing team's objectives, from broker engagement programs and tenant appreciation events to large-scale activations that position National Landing and the broader JBG SMITH portfolio as a destination for business. Manage relationships with community partners, economic development organizations, and industry groups to maximize programming impact and attendance. Own event budgets, production schedules, and post-event reporting. Oversee operations and programming of JBG SMITH's National Landing Experience Center, ensuring it delivers a best-in-class showcase of our portfolio and the submarket. Serve as the primary JBG SMITH interface with Concorde, the JLL-managed meeting and event venue at 2011 Crystal Drive, coordinating the tenant and prospect experience for commercial marketing programming hosted at the facility. Stakeholder & Community Liaison Maintain strong working relationships with the National Landing BID, the National Innovation Quarter (National IQ), state and local economic development agencies, brokers, tenants, and elected officials. Ensure JBG SMITH's commercial marketing efforts are well-coordinated with the broader ecosystem of organizations shaping the submarket. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS)
10+ years of experience in commercial real estate marketing, economic development, event management, or a related field, with progressive leadership responsibility
The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000 annually. In addition to base salary, a generous discretionary bonus and equity will be offered.
