Position Summary The Junior Data Center Technician supports daily data center operations with a primary focus on lowvoltage cabling and basic IT infrastructure tasks. This role assists with installation, maintenance, and documentation of structured cabling, racks, and IT hardware while working under the guidance of senior technicians and leads. Ideal for candidates building foundational experience in data center environments. Key Responsibilities * Assist with installation and removal of lowvoltage cabling (Cat5/Cat6 and fiber) * Pull, dress, label, and secure cables following data center standards * Support rack and stack of servers, switches, and network equipment * Perform basic server and network hardware installations and removals * Assist with connecting power and network cables per provided diagrams or port maps * Maintain cable organization, labeling accuracy, and workspace cleanliness * Support basic troubleshooting of connectivity, cabling, and hardware issues * Assist with equipment unboxing, staging, and preparation * Update documentation including asset locations, labels, and work logs * Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures within the data center Technical Skills * Low Voltage Cabling (Cat5 / Cat6) * Basic Fiber Optic Handling and Awareness * Rack and Stack * Data Center Operations * Cable Management and Labeling * Basic IT Hardware (Servers, Switches) * Use of hand tools and basic test equipment Additional Qualifications * Willingness to learn data center systems and best practices * Ability to follow instructions and work within structured processes * Basic understanding of networking and IT concepts * Ability to read simple diagrams, floor plans, and wiring documentation * Strong attention to detail and organization * Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset * Comfortable working in active data center environments Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks, NV. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
