100% Onsite in Abilene, TX
The schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility to start as early as 6:00 a.m. on Mondays and to stay after 4:00 p.m. on heavier volume days. The role also requires working 6-8 hours on two Sundays per month

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Field Payroll Admin 1 provides basic payroll administrative and clerical support to the Field Payroll team. This role focuses on accurate data entry, document handling, and routine payroll support while learning payroll processes, systems, and compliance requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Assist with collecting, scanning, and filing payroll documentation (timecards, new hire forms, deductions). Perform basic data entry in Time Entry and payroll systems under supervision. Distribute paychecks and pay statements as directed. Respond to routine payroll inquiries by routing or escalating issues appropriately. Maintain organized and accurate employee payroll records. Support weekly payroll processing activities. Follow established payroll procedures, policies, and deadlines. Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner by performing the initial review, escalating as needed, and making sure employees receive a clear and accurate response to their request. Handle requests for hours report, paystubs, W-2s, and Verification of Employment (VOE). Collect, scan, and submit all payroll documentation, including garnishment notices, 401k letters, tax deduction catchups, travel agreements, and promotions. Ensure Time Entry software is updated with employee, foreman, and general foreman information. Review regular timecards, retro request, and missed time to make sure all hours and pay information are reported accurately. Review employees' pay rates for compliance with union contracts and labor laws. Submit requests and make sure certain employees have the devices and access to software they need to perform their time entry and payroll responsibilities. The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work this position performs. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Basic understanding of payroll or HR administration. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude. Effective oral and written communication skills required for the position.
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 0-2 years of payroll, HR, finance, or administrative experience. Preferring experience working with a union employer. Payroll or HR coursework preferred.

General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
