HDR is seeking a Senior Utility Management Services Lead within our Utility Management Services (UMS) group. This position will serve as a client service manager, project manager, planning and technical resource to regional and national teams, and a leader to develop and implement regional and Water Business Group initiatives. This position will report through the Missouri-Kansas (MOKAN) business group but is planned to split time between local and national project delivery and growth initiatives. This position will focus on helping our municipal wastewater, drinking water, and stormwater clients address today's complex challenges, such as capital improvement planning, integrated planning, asset management, regulatory support, program affordability, and workforce optimization. This role will help implement the UMS core service areas and lead multiple projects in support of national and local clients involving:
Integrated Planning Asset Management Master Planning, Hydraulic Modeling, and Basin Planning Regulatory Support Rates, Finance, and Funding Operations Support * Business Process Improvement
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of management experience in the wastewater, drinking water, or water resources sector, with a particular focus on planning and management services for municipal utilities. Strong technical background and experience in designing, operating, maintaining, and/or managing treatment, collection, and/or distribution systems. Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills. Good communication and mentoring skills. Proven project leadership, project management (staffing, schedule, and budget), and mentoring skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with MS Office, MS Project and SharePoint required. Excellent team player with the ability to function effectively in a variety of roles on integrated project teams. Must have the ability to interact with various engineering teams, and have excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Very strong skills in preparing client presentations, project memoranda, and reports is required. Experienced in development and management of strategic positioning and technical differentiation for utility management services. Experienced in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits. Experienced in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path development, and professional growth. Experienced with industry associations and maintains an active and visible profile in the market sector. Ability to work cooperatively with HDR Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Director, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Manager. Preference given to local candidates.
