Job Summary

Optimum is a leading provider of Mobile, Broadband (DOCSIS, Fiber) and Video services in the United States. The Product Development organization is responsible for the technology enablement and development of these technologies for our customers along with the tools used by our teams to support them.


Reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, the SQE I QA Automation Engineering for mobile products will participate as part of a highly skilled software development team to accelerate the automation of our mobile products' end-to-end testing capabilities (both iOS and android).


We are looking for a passionate and engaged individual who is willing to take on the challenge of transforming software development at a Fortune 500 company and building the tools that will allow our development teams to Go Fast!

Responsibilities

  • Assist in automating our end-to-end testing capabilities across all mobile products to 80% coverage including products for broadband, video, customer support and technician support tools.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks (In either Java or Python) to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Introduce capabilities to do effective A/B testing of releases across test populations.
  • Contribute to a structured knowledge base (Atlassian Confluence) that allows teams to create, maintain and extend documentation for all our developer tools and processes.
  • Implement tools to identify, document and track software defects (Qase/Jira).
  • Work closely with the development teams to resolve issues and ensure timely fixes.
  • Follow process improvement initiatives to enhance testing practices, tools, and metrologies.
  • Implement tools to monitor and report on key quality metrics including defect rates, test coverage and test execution progress.Ability to make/maintain API suites a must!
  • Establish and gain acceptance for Key Results indicated by our development pipeline and automation test frameworks.
  • Ability to work on a team both under Senior Quality Engineers, and alongside other discipline members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development, automation, and tools with at least 1 year experience in mobile automation.
  • Proficiency in variety of programming languages (Python or Java is a must), not just within framework guidelines.
  • Experience with Google cloud or Amazon Web Services and their capabilities
  • Understanding of software methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Experience with the implementation and optimization CI/CD Pipelines
  • Experience with the automation of test cases
  • Good intuition for software design, actively looking to learn from other teams and projects
  • Experience with data formats and locality with performance considerations
  • Demonstrated experience solving performance and data issues by applying experience/knowledge
  • Completely comfortable working with live production systems, debugging issues and taking careful actions with protections against damage
  • Contributes to establishing and maintaining corporate policies related to technology

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $83,538.00 - $137,241.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire and does not reflect future job opportunity.
