Description

The Sr. Principal, Process Engineering position involves the resolution of complex or multi-dimensional engineering problems. This role requires a subject matter expert with a strategic thought process and solid business acumen for driving innovation and contributing high-level expertise. The position primarily functions independently with full autonomy and accountability and requires minimal supervision.

Responsibilities



  • Provide strategic direction for process modeling and data analysis.
  • Drive chemical/physical/biological process evaluations, alternatives analyses, lifecycle cost analyses, and implementation of process optimizations.
  • Provide senior oversight for facility troubleshooting efforts, develop solutions for critical issues.
  • Review and support implementation of Quality Management Plan (QMP), decision, interim work, and deliverables for projects or individual elements of large/complex projects.
  • Drive strategic technical innovation projects, including the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and processes.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for technology evaluation and related design of experiments.
  • Provide senior level guidance in process design and definition, including mass and energy balances, process system requirements, equipment specifications, and preliminary design concepts.
  • Provide senior level oversight for chemical/physical/biological testing and analysis, develop and implement optimization strategies.
  • Continue learning on latest technical advancements.
  • Drive broader awareness and delivery of BC's process related differentiating solutions.
  • Engage on pursuits associated with large/complex projects, including development of process related proposal/presentation technical content.
  • As required, support development of process related risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as an area technical leader in industry for process engineering via regional conference presentations and/or publications, promoting BC's brand.
  • Support the development and creation of continuing education and training, including on the latest technical advancements.
  • Actively mentor junior staff development priorities and projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and support practice leaders in ensuring BC Standards are accurate, up to date and complete
  • Create efficiencies and technical differentiation, solve complex challenges and deliver refined solutions.
  • Advance solutions into the market, contribute to research and innovation strategy, and protect intellectual property.
  • Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.


Mentorship



  • Provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles.


Skills and Competencies



  • Advanced technical skills, strategic thinking, leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Advanced ability to operate independently with a high level of accountability.
  • Understanding of market trends and share within the related technical practice or geographic area.
  • Demonstrated skills in effectively conveying complex information to clients and internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines.


Experience



  • Typically, a minimum of 15 years related work experience in process engineering or related field.
  • Typically, a SME in the BC SMS Framework (upon joining the company)
  • Extensive previous experience in leading engineering teams and introduction of innovative process solutions.


Education



  • A bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical, mechanical, or biological engineering degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Licensure as a professional engineer is required.


Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.





Location A: $129,000 - $177,000
Location B: $142,000 - $194,000
Location C: $155,000 - $212,000
