At the USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health (IIGH), our vision is a just and healthy world. We work with partners at USC and around the world to address health-related disparities and inequalities, taking a multidisciplinary approach to advance the evidence base about what works, train the next generation of leaders and inform public policy.

IIGH is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Project Specialist. Working under the guidance of the Director of Strategic Operations, the Administrative Project Specialist will provide administrative support across our educational, research, and policy priorities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable working in fast paced environments with a positive attitude, and adept at managing multiple tasks at once. Interest and/or experience working in global health is desirable but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide key administrative support such as planning, organizing, coordinating, scheduling, and implementing a variety of projects across the Institute's pillars of research, education, and policy engagement.
  • Schedules, plans, and attends recurring and ad-hoc meetings, assisting with preparing documents, taking notes and flagging meeting follow-up as necessary.
  • Supports on select global health course updates and administration as needed.
  • Provides administrative support in tracking, documenting, and organizing publication updates, agreements, drafts, and final published materials.
  • Provides administrative support on research projects, including references and citations.
  • Provides administrative support across a number of educational programs and initiatives.
  • Supports on select director-level travel
  • Supports on select communications projects
  • Supports on select reimbursements and reconciliations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by the Director of Strategic Operations and/or IIGH leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • An upbeat attitude, eager to participate and actively engage in all aspects of the Institute
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude who will take initiative to address issues and propose solutions.
  • A high-performing, genuine, authentic individual with a good sense of humor
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Resourcefulness and ability to prioritize tasks to meet a variety of demands.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, initiate own work and use good judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and communicating the status of these tasks to supervisors and colleagues.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working in fast-paced environments, preferably at an educational institution, nonprofit or government agency. In addition, she/he/they should possess a high level of attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to initiate own work and use good judgment with minimal supervision. Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential to the success of this role, as well as the ability to work with team members, faculty, students and external corporate partners.

The hourly rate range for this position is $30.14 - $38.71.
