ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Cyber Security Engineering team in a fast-paced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry. Based in Betzdorf, you will contribute to our world class cyber security team, where we bring together talent from all domains of information and cyber security to protect SES' expanding global network and customer services against advanced cyber threats - at land, sea, air and in space. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
- Support engineering groups in, secure design, risk management, vulnerability assessment and management, security testing.
- Support engineering groups in system hardening, Endpoint Protection (AV/HIPS), Default system configuration
- Support engineering groups with security engineering research in the different security domains, such as identification and access management, authentication and authorization, MFA and Strong Authentication
- Support engineering groups with network security controls concepts, design and reviews, including multi-vendor firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, web proxies, email security gateways, web application firewalls, network access control, etc.
- Research network and system security controls and provide specific recommendations to mitigate risks
- Assess system and application security requirements, threats, vulnerabilities and security risks in complex, heterogeneous systems
- Operating Systems (MS Windows and Linux), Citrix/VMWare and applications, including a clear understanding of their vulnerabilities and how to secure them
- Cloud Solutions (e.g., O365, Azure, AWS)
- Microsoft Defender, Office 365 Security best practices, Microsoft Azure security best practices
- Security controls, DISA STIGS, CIS, NIST, etc are considered an advantage
- SSO/SAML, JSON, PowerShell, RestAPI and related scripting technologies like Powershell, Python, etc are considered an advantage
- Web application developing skills are considered an advantage
- Support the development and promotion of information security policies, standards, processes and procedures and monitor compliance to the information security policy framework.
COMPETENCIES
- Strong interest in the media/telecommunication business and technical interest in satellites
- Excellent analytical and judgment skills, basic knowledge in IP networks and protocols
- Ability to set priorities
- Work independently as well as in a team;
- Easiness to communicate at all levels;
- Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Being an advanced Bachelor/ Master's student in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, Software Development or in a relevant technical area;
- Computer literate (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access);
- Scripting and WEB developing are considered an advantage
- Hardening operating systems and application review are considered an advantage
