Description

Force Motion Group (FMG) is seeking a high-calibre Global Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (Infrastructure SME), FMG is responsible for ensuring stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure operations across the global enterprise environment. The role provides technical expertise, guidance, and governance across the infrastructure landscape, including compute, network, storage, cloud platforms, identity services, backup, and disaster recovery. Working closely with Group IT, divisional IT teams, local IT teams, managed service providers, and business stakeholders, the Infrastructure SME ensures infrastructure solutions are aligned with business needs, security standards, and enterprise architecture. The role drives continuous improvement by monitoring infrastructure performance, identifying risks and recurring issues, and implementing solutions to enhance reliability, resiliency, and operational efficiency. The role works closely with managed service providers and external vendors to ensure infrastructure services are delivered effectively and aligned with business and operational requirements.

Infrastructure Strategy & Governance



  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to drive consistent, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions across compute, network, storage, cloud, and identity platforms.
  • Define and maintain infrastructure standards, policies, and best practices aligned with enterprise architecture and business requirements.
  • Drive resolution of critical (Severity 1) incidents from analysis through resolution, ensuring minimal business disruption.
  • Monitor service trends, identify recurring issues, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.


Cybersecurity & Risk Management



  • Support cybersecurity initiatives by ensuring infrastructure aligns with security standards, policies, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO).
  • Identify security gaps and work with internal teams and service providers to remediate risks
  • Support incident response activities, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective resolution and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with Group and divisional security standards and regulatory requirements.


Project & Solution Delivery



  • Collaborate with project teams to design and deliver infrastructure solutions aligned with business needs and timelines.
  • Translate business requirements into technical infrastructure designs and implementation plans.
  • Support infrastructure components of global and regional IT projects, ensuring alignment with standards and architecture.
  • Contribute to roadmap development and continuous improvement of infrastructure capabilities


Vendor & Stakeholder Management



  • Work closely with managed service providers and vendors to ensure delivery of infrastructure services aligned with SLAs and business expectations.
  • Monitor vendor performance, support service reviews, and ensure alignment with contractual agreements
  • Collaborate with Group IT, divisional IT teams, and local IT teams to ensure effective communication and alignment across the organization.
  • Support cost management activities, including budget tracking and invoice validation.


    Operational & Additional Responsibilities



    • Execute and oversee periodic operational activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
    • Maintain and update infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, and procedures
    • Provide global support coverage as required, including outside standard business hours
    • Travel approximately 25% as required to support projects, site activities, and business needs, including international travel
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and overall infrastructure strategy
    • Perform duties as assigned by leadership

    Education Requirements and Experience:



    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
    • Master's degree or equivalent advanced education is preferred.
    • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS), infrastructure technologies, or cybersecurity frameworks are considered an advantage.
    • Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or enterprise infrastructure management.
    • Proven experience supporting and managing global infrastructure environments, including compute, network, storage, cloud, and identity services.
    • Strong experience working with managed service providers and vendors, including coordination, performance monitoring, and service delivery oversight.
    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
    • Experience supporting high-availability environments, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
    • Experience working in global or multi-region environments, supporting distributed teams and business operations.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, balancing operational support with project delivery in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to deliver infrastructure solutions aligned with business needs.
