Responsibilities

Are you looking for an opportunity to lead and provide central oversight over end-to-end Supply Chain activities? Our Procurement Organization is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to own the development, implementation, and ongoing sourcing strategy for specific procurement categories.

The Sourcing Specialist will lead end-to-end development and management of assigned categories, including the category profile, category strategy, sourcing plan, projects, contracts, supplier relationships and performance, setting savings, and targets. Preferred category experience includes IT software and hardware.

This individual will lead the development, implementation and execution of key sourcing and procurement strategies across IT. Responsibilities requires close collaboration with key stakeholders and gaining alignment to execute against category strategies and key business priorities. The two primary drivers for success are capturing value or accelerating revenue for the key business stakeholders. This position will be responsible for over $300 million in annual IT spend and will report directly to the Senior Director of Strategic Procurement.

Responsibilities:

    Leverage category-specific industry knowledge to develop internal savings targets and cost avoidance business cases for application within Peraton.
  • Collaborate with business leaders on their needs and develop sourcing strategies to drive and support functional business goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategy and work toward developing a sourcing pipeline leveraging market research, business unit demands, business solutioning partners and rationalization of supplier base that delivers cost-saving agreements.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships, involving the ongoing management of supplier performance, issues, and disputes.
  • Conduct category reviews with business partners on a recurring basis to ensure alignment with business plans and ensuring alignment across all procurement activities on category strategy and initiatives.
  • Achieve category spend savings targets and objectives utilizing spend analytics, strategic sourcing, and market data to drive value and improved value.
  • Draft, negotiate and execute effective supplier agreements which maximize Peraton's negotiated position and lock Peraton's long term competitive advantage.
  • Proactively manage contract renewals, closure, terminations, etc. Ensure contract changes are coordinated within the defined process and updated to internal repository
  • Seek support and partner as needed with Business Unit, Legal, Finance, and Supply Chain.


Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant experience with a BA, 6 years of relevant experience with Masters Degree.
  • 12 + years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Successful track record in technology category management
  • Experience in public sector
  • Strong analytical skills with experience performing spend analysis in Excel.
  • Independently able to execute complex RFPs coupled with exhibiting strong negotiation skills.
  • Able to work in a geographically dispersed environment and aggressively take the lead on capturing value or accelerating revenue for numerous lines of business
  • Demonstrate candor; ability to respectfully challenge senior leadership
  • Comfort and familiarity with constructing presentations, organization communications, and business cases
  • Strong ability to build relationships and networks with multiple functions and at the leadership levels
  • Self-starter and independent worker

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
