A Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Quality Engineering Manager at MKS, you will partner with Direct Pressure, Valves, and flow Business unit as well as Andover and Methuen Manufacturing personnel to drive a culture of quality across Design & Development, Metrology, and Manufacturing. This role ensures site-wide adherence to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations while leading strategic quality initiatives that improve product performance, compliance, and operational excellence. The Quality Manager serves as the primary quality interface to internal and external stakeholders, including Business Unit and site Manufacturing leadership, regulatory agencies, customers, and suppliers. In this role, you will report to a Director of Quality Engineering.

- Lead the site's overall quality strategy to ensure compliance with corporate standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
- Act as the primary advisor to site leadership on quality risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Build and sustain a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and proactive quality ownership across all functions.
Design & Development Quality
- Participate in the product development process of semiconductor capital equipment to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.
- Ensure product requirements, design inputs/outputs, and technical documentation meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Support cross-functional design reviews, failure analysis, and product transfer readiness to high volume manufacturing centers.
Metrology
- Manage team of technicians and administrators to calibrate standards and equipment from global MKS manufacturing locations.
- Serve as center of excellence within MKS for developing methods and best practices for global calibration.
- Support capacity and capability for local and global manufacturing sites.
- Sustain global calibration software solutions.
Manufacturing Quality
- Provide leadership for incoming, in-process, and final quality control operations.
- Ensure ISO9001 compliant quality systems are in place to support production.
- Champion reduction of nonconformances, scrap/rework, and process variability through strong application of problemsolving and statistical tools.
- Drive process capability improvements and ensure PFMEAs and control plans are in use and maintained.
Service & Field Quality
- Oversee the service quality program, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of field failures and customer complaints.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) related to field issues.
- Partner with service teams to improve product quality, service documentation, and customer satisfaction.
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., FDA, ISO, AS, customer audits).
- Maintain and continually improve the site QMS, leading internal audits, management reviews, document control, and training.
- Drive timely closure of CAPAs, nonconformance investigations, and audit findings.
People Leadership
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of quality professionals across design assurance, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, and service quality.
- Ensure workforce capability through training, mentoring, and talent development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Service, and Program Management to ensure quality is integrated at every stage of the product lifecycle.
- Participate in site leadership forums to influence strategy and decision-making.
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline.in a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Management within a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment, electronics).
- Demonstrated experience leading quality engineers and inspectors across design, manufacturing, and service. Proven leadership and team building and development.
- Direct experience working with customers, establishing rapport, and representing the organization on quality related topics. Experience working with large OEM customers a plus.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, risk management, statistical techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to regularly interact with local peers and management as well as international coworkers. The candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively in both native language and English.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary Pay Range: 109,750k-182,900K USD Annual, based on qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
