Summary:

We are looking for a talented marketing professional who is a self-starter to support marketing initiatives for our employee benefits business. In this role, you will take ownership of executing and managing integrated marketing campaigns for large employers and their employees, driving awareness, education, and enrollment of life and voluntary products. Strong execution is at the core of this position - you will be responsible for managing detailed timelines, ensuring on-time delivery of marketing tactics, and maintaining clear, proactive communication with internal partners and cross-functional teams to keep work moving forward. You'll need to effectively balance and prioritize competing demands across a dynamic book of clients, ensuring deadlines are met, and work is delivered with quality and consistency. You'll work across teams, tools, and mediums and data to deliver marketing that influences employee behavior during the different phases of the product lifecycle. Throughout it all, you'll be supported by a collaborative, integrated team of fellow marketers who are passionate about the work and care deeply for the customers and clients served.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Marketing Execution and Delivery

  • Execute a high volume of marketing tactics for employer clients, managing the delivery of work that drives awareness, enrollment, and employee engagement in supplemental health and life products, ensuring all deliverables are on time, accurate, and meet quality standards.

  • Follow established marketing plans and strategies to bring campaigns to life, applying critical thinking to identify next steps and keep work moving forward in alignment with client goals and timelines.

  • Quickly learn and become proficient in key tools such as Workfront, compliance software, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud to support the efficient development, routing, and delivery of marketing materials.

Timeline and Project Management

  • Create, manage, and maintain detailed project timelines for assigned marketing deliverables, proactively communicating status, dependencies, and potential risks to ensure on-time delivery across clients.

  • Independently manage recurring tasks and smaller projects, demonstrating strong organizational skills and accountability for meeting deadlines while coordinating with fellow marketers on larger initiatives.

  • Contribute to initiatives that advance marketing innovation, effectiveness, and efficiency, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and aligned to broader team priorities.

Communication and Relationship Building

  • Maintain clear, proactive, and consistent communication with leader, team, account managers and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment on priorities, deliverables, and client expectations, engaging fellow marketers to support strategic direction.

  • Prepare materials for client meetings, capture action items, and follow through on next steps, in partnership with senior marketers and account managers.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners to foster collaboration and ensure seamless execution across the marketing lifecycle.

Product Knowledge and Content Development

  • Develop foundational product knowledge of Securian products and solutions to accurately represent product details in marketing materials and support compelling messaging.

  • Obtain a life and health insurance license within six months of hire and maintain it throughout the duration of the role.

  • Contribute to the development of marketing collateral for employees of large employers, leveraging growing product knowledge and marketing acumen to deliver effective content with input from senior marketers.

Measurement and Reporting

  • Track and report on marketing results by monitoring key performance indicators aligned to employee product participation and utilization.

  • Translate campaign data into insights that inform future marketing decisions and optimize ongoing campaigns, sharing findings with the broader marketing team and account executives to strengthen collective strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain clear, proactive communication across cross-functional teams and client-facing partners.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage a high volume of competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Foundational knowledge of marketing approaches including segmentation, customer journeys, key messaging, and digital communications and campaigns.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess needs, identify next steps, and keep work moving forward.

  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to make independent decisions, take initiative, and deliver quality results with minimal direction.

  • Ability to develop an understanding of target audience mindsets and the employer benefits industry, including life insurance, supplemental health, and financial wellness.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with familiarity with Workfront, Tableau, or the ability to quickly learn new marketing systems and tools.

  • Obtain and maintain a valid life and health insurance license within the first six months of employment, as required for supporting life insurance product marketing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Business, or Communications.

  • Two to four years of experience within a marketing or communications role, preferably in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
