Our mission is to enrich the academic climate at UNM and create lifelong learners. Language tutors provide support to UNM students who are learning languages. Language tutors are either native language users or advanced language learners of the target language who can help students understand language material, improve their language production skills (speaking, signing, writing) and language reception skills (listening, reading, comprehending), and overcome problems in language learning. As a member of the CTL team, student staff attend weekly or biweekly training focused on language content and tutoring practices, which are designed to make student staff effective facilitators of student learning.
