Job Summary

UCDavis is looking for a Supply Coordinator to work alongside our world leading faculty clinicians and technicians, helping them teach the next generation of veterinarians while also serving the animals and pet owners of our community.

As part of the top-ranked UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital team, our employees are provided the following benefits:

RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, work in coordination with the Central Service supervisor in the purchasing and acquisition of supplies; Dispense and distribute veterinary medical and surgical supplies; Assist in the maintenance of inventories; Receive, unpack and reconcile contents with packing slip of incoming shipments. Perform point of service computer billing of dispensations. Assist as needed in the VMTH Receiving and housekeeping units.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • No minimum education required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with purchasing, inventory control or supply chain or experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting handling medical supplies.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with digital systems for ordering, inventory tracking, or similar experience with medical health records.
  • Experience working with medical supplies and instruments.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize assignments and successfully complete them in accordance to deadlines.
  • Computer skills to input and retrieve data.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism, along with strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage a diverse group of clients, clinicians, students, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a veterinary medicine or human medicine setting.
  • Experience with VMACS & VMTH policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of UC campus purchasing & inventory systems and knowledge of medical & veterinary supplies.
  • Ability to learn VMTH accounting and client billing procedures.

The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) supports the educational, clinical, and research missions of the School of Veterinary Medicine through 24-hour clinical operations. VMTH serves as a teaching hospital for professional veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate academic students, while providing advanced veterinary care to the public and functioning as a regional referral center. The hospital is also dedicated to advancing veterinary medical knowledge through clinical excellence and innovation.

Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
