Procurement Analyst Job Posting

How you will impact Ingevity:

The Procurement Analyst is responsible for supporting all initiatives for the Global Procurement organization. The position will be located at the Ingevity headquarters in North Charleston, South Carolina and report to the Procurement Operations Manager. This role will be involved with the sourcing and procurement processes for all corporate and manufacturing spend. The position has an analytical component and "customer-orientation" at its core, which requires strong diagnostic, project management and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently and in a team environment.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify, analyze and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function to standardize processes, drive savings, and maintain data and systems
  • Assist category managers with bid preparation, market research, data analysis and contract management
  • Support tactical RFQs/RFPs for sourcing events in accordance with Global Procurement policies and category plans
  • Assist in the identification of cost savings initiatives and support internal changes
  • Support end users in both corporate functions and plants with basic procurement requirements, supplier onboarding, invoice issues, goods receipt issues, and Coupa and SAP related questions and support
  • Work closely with numerous functions within the organization: operations, production planning, supply chain, accounting, etc.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree required (Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering preferred) or at least 5 years of relevant procurement experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience reviewing and analyzing data with the ability to recognize and communicate trends and discrepancies and summarize those findings in a clear, concise visual format
  • At least 2 years of sourcing and procurement experience or equivalent experience in relevant business categories.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter able to independently develop processes and strategies
  • Experience with SAP transactions and reporting functions (or equivalent ERP) is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, relationship building skills, and people skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical, business process, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Six Sigma training is preferred
  • Must be a team player and adapt well to a multitasking, fast paced environment with changing priorities and challenges.
  • Travel up to 10% as required for plant visits, supplier audits, development, and meetings.
  • This role is not eligible for relocation assistance.
  • This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. The successful candidate must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship to work in the US.
