Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical and power systems expertise in a cutting-edge, high-speed rail environment supporting Amtrak's NextGen fleet. You'll work alongside collaborative, motivated and hands-on teammates, playing a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of newly introduced trainsets.

You'll make a direct impact by keeping trains available for service during product introduction, commissioning, and early-life warranty phases. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with engineering, warranty, and project teams, as well as customer representatives at the site. You'll also support investigations, field modifications, and data-driven improvements that help shape the future of high-speed rail in the U.S.

You'll specifically take care of troubleshooting and repairing electrical and power-related systems on new trains, but also contribute to fleet checks, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.

We'll look to you for:

  • Ensuring strict compliance with Alstom and customer Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) rules on site
  • Troubleshooting, investigating, and repairing power and electrical systems during Product Introduction, commissioning, and pre-warranty phases
  • Performing fleet check activities and supporting the safe entry into service of new trains
  • Accurately reporting failures, deviations, and repairs in the failure management systems
  • Supporting technical investigations led by Engineering or suppliers
  • Implementing field modifications and approved technical updates
  • Ensuring effective information handover within the troubleshooting and site teams
  • Contributing to return-of-experience feedback, including recommendations for preventive and corrective actions
  • Providing feedback to PI management on product performance and customer satisfaction

All about you

We value passion and attitude as much as experience. While you don't need to match every requirement perfectly, the following will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A degree or strong technical passion combined with relevant experience in electrical, electronics, power, or electromechanical systems
  • Several years (2+ years) of hands-on technical or field experience in electrical or power-related applications
  • Confidence troubleshooting complex systems and identifying root causes independently
  • A structured, organized, and practical approach to problem solving
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly escalate issues to the right stakeholders
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to both ask for help and coach less experienced colleagues
  • Flexibility and agility to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately every two months, short-duration trips)
  • Fluency in English
  • A valid state driver's license
