General Summary of Position: The Department of Biomedical & Nutritional Sciences (BNS) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Faculty (open rank) to also serve as the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program Director. The successful candidate will teach and mentor students, provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership for the NAACLS-accredited MLS program, work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, clinical affiliates, alumni, and external partners to advance program quality, student success, and workforce relevance, and provide other service to the department and university. We seek an innovative and student-centered educator and director who will oversee program organization, curriculum quality, accreditation, assessment, continuous review, and overall program effectiveness while contributing to teaching, mentoring, recruitment, and service in support of the department, college, and university mission. About the Department of Biomedical & Nutritional Sciences (BNS), Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences and UMass Lowell: The BNS Department currently includes 18 full-time faculty and 5 full-time staff members, in addition to postdoctoral fellows and research staff. Faculty and staff are actively engaged in innovative health sciences education, including experiential and interprofessional education, hands-on laboratory training, and impactful research and research mentorship. Academic programs in the department include undergraduate and graduate offerings in Applied Biomedical Sciences, including Medical Laboratory Science, Nutritional Science, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences prepares scientists and professionals across a broad range of health-focused disciplines. In addition to BNS, the College includes the Solomont School of Nursing, the Department of Public Health, and the Department of Physical Therapy & Kinesiology. Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is full-time, benefited and in the MSP union. Salary is based on rank and qualifications. Minimum salary (Clinical Instructor) starts at $70,000 and up to maximum (for Clinical Professor) salary of $150,000.
