This position is designed as Hybrid (In office and Remote)

Education and Experience: Licensed as a Medical Laboratory Technologist issued by the Tennessee Department of Health and experience equivalent to three years of full-time increasingly responsible professional medical laboratory technology work in an approved medical laboratory performing general laboratory work; additional graduate coursework in medical technology may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications: Licensed as a Medical Laboratory Technologist issued by the Tennessee Department of Health. A valid vehicle operator's license is required.
Overview Under general supervision, is responsible for professional medical technologist personnel consulting work of average difficulty; and performs related work as required. The Medical Technologist Consultant 1 - Personnel Consultant is a licensed medical technologist in the State of Tennessee. The Personnel Consultant reviews all applications for personnel licensure as well as all applications for new training programs and clinical rotations. The Personnel Consultant performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of the Medical Laboratory Board. Responsibilities
- Holds an active medical technologist license in Tennessee
- Responsible for review of all medical laboratory personnel applications for compliance with statutes, rules & regulations, or board policy.
- Provides complete & accurate information to applicants, vendors, staff & board members on issues concerning licensure applications, licensure reinstatements and/or board matters.
- Speaks clearly & persuasively with applicants, vendors, legislators, the public, staff & attorneys regarding compliance with the program area's regulatory processes.
- Responsible for providing accurate, understandable information to board members, HRB Director, the public & staff relating to board meeting events, personnel licensure, retirements, reinstatements, & closures pertaining to medical laboratory professionals in Tennessee.
- Responsible for presiding over quarterly Personnel & Education Committee meetings.
- Responsible for communicating and posting all meeting notices as assigned.
- Assumes responsibility for compiling appropriate documents, which relate to personnel licensure, to prepare for discussion with board director.
- Responsible for presentation of incomplete or questionable. application files to committee members with information presented in a clear, concise manner & understandable format.
- Responsible for maintaining committee meeting minutes.
- Responsible for initial review of all documents associated with the continuing education audit of medical laboratory personnel.
