DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports river conservation and community and watershed forestry initiatives by managing grants, coordinating projects, and assisting with program planning. Here, you will work closely with partners, stakeholders, and program leaders to help advance statewide conservation goals. As a Rivers Grant Project Manager, you will perform the following duties:

  • Grant Guidance: Provide technical information, presentations, and assistance to stakeholders for river and forestry grant programs
  • Project Oversight: Review, score, and manage grant applications, documents, and deliverables to ensure eligibility and accuracy
  • Site Coordination: Complete project site inspections and attend meetings with partners to provide support and guidance
  • Program Support: Assist with program planning, policy development, and implementation of conservation initiatives
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in meetings, collaborate with agencies, and support water trail and river conservation efforts
  • Progress Monitoring: Schedule meetings with grantees, track deliverables, and resolve issues to keep projects on schedule

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Occasional travel to project sites and conferences.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per 2 week pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Recreation and Conservation Advisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of professional experience in parks, recreation, or natural resource conservation administration, planning, or development; and a bachelor's degree in parks and recreation, landscape architecture, environmental sciences, city, regional, urban, or environmental planning, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
