Our People team is responsible for managing and enhancing all aspects of human resources and employee experience. Our team oversees talent acquisition, including recruiting, interviewing and onboarding new hires, ensuring that the Firm attracts and retains top legal talent and business services professionals. We develop and implement HR policies, manage employee relations, and administer compensation and benefits programs to ensure a fair and supportive work environment. Additionally, the People team focuses on training, professional development, work allocation, mobility and fostering a positive workplace culture. We also handle performance management, employee engagement, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. Through our comprehensive HR strategies and initiatives, the People team ensures that the Firm's workforce around the world is motivated, skilled and mobilized to deliver on the Firm's objectives.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • Manage the implementation of and participation in Firmwide programs, including but not limited to annual milestones, performance evaluations, compensation, flexible work, on/off ramping, and exit interviews.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to manage and analyze data. Achieve results by utilizing People team centers of excellence (compensation, recruitment, benefits, mobility, and learning and development), shared services, and wider support functions.
  • Work effectively with all stakeholders, improving effectiveness across HR functions and with shared service.
  • Oversee the application of the Firm's career framework to plan for our employee pipeline and succession planning.
  • Guide talent management and people development planning to ensure employees are on-board, resourced, trained, mobilized, seconded and developed in a way that benefits both the individual and the Firm.
  • Lead regular meetings with the Firm's function leadership to review talent management and development efforts and drive any necessary interventions and actions.
  • Manage employee relations cases and work with the Office of the General Counsel on escalations.
  • Collaborate with the broader regional People team on special projects and programs.
  • Demonstrate and practice a high level of knowledge around talent management and a solid understanding of technical HR, including federal and local labor and employment laws, as well as use talent networks to continuously upskill their team.
  • Own and facilitate career development plans to identify the work experiences, client opportunities, mobility opportunities, formal training and coaching.
  • Contribute to building and fostering a collaborative and collegial team committed to professional excellence.
  • Salary: $184,787 - $215,400 per year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field, plus at least 5 years of professional experience as a HR Manager, Talent Management, or other occupation/position/job title at an international law firm driving implementation of the People agenda supporting the business plans and global Firm strategy.
  • Must also have experience with the following special skills: 5 years of professional experience overseeing Human Resources (HR) system implementations and ensuring quality data in HR systems; 5 years of professional experience managing client relationships in a law firm setting, including liaising with and presenting to senior stakeholders regarding firmwide HR initiatives; 5 years of professional experience working with employees and management through HR issues in line with policies, procedures and regulations; 5 years of professional experience leading regional, global, or remote cross-border HR teams, including managing employment relation cases; and 5 years of professional experience reviewing and analyzing current benefits (including health insurance, attendance, personal and professional development, and expatriate benefits), implementing benefits changes, and supporting annual benefits plan renewals.
