TITLE: Product Development Technician A
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for assisting the Product Development Manager with the evaluation and development of nutraceutical formulas and formulation functions throughout the entire process of manufacturing and production, by product specification, following cGMP's, and Standard Operating Procedures, food safety regulations, and safety procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires 2-4 years of practical experience in nutraceutical or pharmaceutical formulation, PD or related functions in a nutraceutical or pharmaceutical environment.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical or nutraceutical formulation and PD processes and techniques, including but not limited to good working knowledge of formulation, solid dosage equipment and dosage form development, good knowledge of math, computer literacy, good written and oral communication skills, high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience as a Mixing/Blending Operator

- High School Diploma or GED/High School Equivalency Diploma, required
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.
- Adherent to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), meet all operational requirements as specified by regulatory standards.
- Responsible for creating pilot batches (less than 10 kg).
- Move staged raw material into PD, dispense and weight raw materials as per formula.
- Set-up and clean up small scale tablet press and encapsulation machine.
- Interact with operations on the manufacturing scale of new products.
- Communicate with manufacturing, production, and packaging personnel to identify and correct quality assurance issues throughout the process.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with others at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Comply with all our food safety and food quality programs, procedures, and policies or references. If required, to be a member of the HACCP team. Obligation to monitor production areas of changes to report deviations or actions that put at risk the food safety of the product. Ensure that all personnel in the company apply and meet the established controls and follow all requirements applicable to the members of the food safety.
TRAINING:
- Working knowledge of Safety in the Workplace Rules and Regulations.
- Working knowledge of cGMP's and SOP's.
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiar with manufacturing encapsulation and mixing blending machines.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Ability to sit for 8-10 hours daily
- Flexibility to work overtime, holidays, weekends, on short notice, as needed.
- Flexibility to work longer hours to meet deadlines, as needed.
- Must have excellent manual dexterity. Ability to perform repetitive tasks for a long period of time without making a lot of errors and getting bored.
