The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Description: Provides leadership to other telephone operators in the day to day operations of the department, Evaluates and assigns schedules and makes changes as needed, Completes weekly payroll for the Telephone Operators , Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i,e,damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc. Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in directing employee labor, Makes recommendations regarding the ongoing performance evaluation of supervised staff and resulting actions (i,e,reward, discipline, discharge, etc,). Basic Qualifications: High School diploma, One to three years telephone switchboard experience required with some supervisory experience preferred Responsibilities: Answers patient information line and gives appropriate information, Anticipates and resolves problems effectively, Demonstrates knowledge of switchboard and paging system, Insures a timely response and adequate screening of incoming calls with appropriate referral to specific Hospital departments, Initiates communication codes for emergency situations such as Cardiac Arrest Code, Disaster Trauma, fire codes and as required, Keeps accurate and current on-call schedules for IV Team, Respiratory, Anesthesia Residents or others, Maintains alpha file of attending physicians office and home telephone numbers, Maintains on-call service for contact with physicians and other hospital personnel outside regular working hours, Uses conference plan for Administrative calls, fire and other emergencies as required, Creates monthly working schedule and makes changes as appropriate, Maintains attendance records, Provides training support for new operators, Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in directing employee labor, Perform other duties as assigned Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
