The Manufacturing Technician is a subject matter expert responsible for ensuring that parts and finished products meet quality expectations while performing a variety of duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • A wide array of mechanical and electrical work, including but not limited to, diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components powering up, program, and complete electrical items on all units.
  • Able to do the functions of level 1 and troubleshoot all electrical defects with no supervision. Must also be able to train at a level 1 to perform their job functions.
  • Wires all electrical systems related to machinery, equipment, and trucks.
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, and corrects electrical and electronic equipment malfunctions.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains all production electrical equipment, special-purpose manufacturing systems, office, and factory support equipment.
  • Inspect and test finished machine-produced parts.
  • Identify parts needed and partner with Purchasing to ensure timely delivery.
  • Set up machinery by positioning parts, loading materials, and entering specifications on computers.
  • Monitors one or more stages of the manufacturing process while equipment is running.
  • Complete productivity or other related reports, detailing the number of parts or products made during each shift.
  • Stay current in TPM and basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment as needed.
  • Read and interpret detail drawings and dimension styles.
  • Records information required for analysis and decision making including, but not limited to equipment performance, quality, and productivity.
  • Update paperwork and reflect any changes.
  • Interface with engineering to program machine run and set ups.
  • Loads parts in machine, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
  • Run production lots, communicate with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Performs all duties according to safety procedures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
  • Should be able to qualify for the highest-ranking job classification within the Electrician job family.
  • Must have basic PC Skills and be capable of accessing the required computer information to perform the required duties.
  • Familiar with the safe operation of various tools: including but not limited to drills, screw gun, table saw, band saw and routers.
  • Ability to use basic mathematics.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of related manufacturing experience (based on work area) and/or 2 years' experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a broad range of activities related to the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is elevated.

Personal protective equipment recommended and/ or required:

  • Safety glasses, or prescription safety glasses with side shields
  • Ear plugs
  • Close-toed shoes are required on the plant floor.
  • Additional PPE varies according to department assigned.
