The Senior HR Generalist implements and administersAvient'shuman resources services, policies, and programs. This position partners with business teams to guide decision making processes and positivelyimpactsthe results of the organization by recruiting,retaining, rewarding, and developing theindustry'sbest talent in a manner that is cost-efficient and compliant. The Sr. HR Generalist will work directly with the Sr. HR Manager to support specific client groups, projects and tasks as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Implement HR policies, programs, and systems related to recruitment, development, training, compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and organizational development.

  • Provide effective staffing support by developing hiring requisitions and partnering with recruiters and business leaders to fill exempt and non exempt positions.

  • Coordinate andfacilitatenew hire onboarding and serve as the primary point of contact for new employees afterofferacceptance.

  • Advise and support employees and managers on employment conditions, HR policies, HR systems, and performance management processes.

  • Manage employee relations matters, including counseling plans, conflict resolution, and performance improvement programs.

  • Support employees with career development, education related needs, and workplace concerns, engagingexpertsas necessary.

  • Assistemployees returning from long or short term medical leave to ensure a smooth and compliant reintegration process.

  • Partner with supervisors and managers to develop high-potential employees and address workforce issues.

  • Contribute to HR programs that promote high morale, employee satisfaction, and a positive organizational culture.

  • Support the implementation of organizational and cultural change initiatives.

  • Use employee and client feedback toidentifyopportunities for improving HR services and communication.

  • Develop andmaintaina working knowledge of business unit operations, including products, customers, markets, competitors, and key performance metrics.

  • Maintain visibility within the business through regular visits to manufacturing or operational sites.

  • Manage or support special HR programs and processes, such as leadership development initiatives and international assignments.

  • Create statistics, reports, and presentations to support HR management and business decision making.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all HR matters.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% to support the essential functions of the position.

  • PerformadditionalHR responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Manages specific programs or processes for client groups which include but are not limited to leadership development programs, international assignments, etc.
  • Administers Avient's HR policies, programs and procedures for the employees in assigned client groups. These include salary and wage administration, health and welfare benefits inquiries, retirement plan inquiries, recruitment, HR information systems, payroll/time and attendance recording, organizational development and training plans.
  • Partners with the recruiting team and the business unit to staff and hire non-exempt, exempt, and executive level business unit positions.
  • Ensures that Avient reward and recognition programs are utilized.
  • Coordinates on-boarding activities for business unit hires.
  • Develops hiring requisitions for client group positions.
  • Manages employee counseling plans, handles conflict resolution issues and individual performance improvement programs.
  • Partners directly with managers and senior leaders to address employee issues, guide performance management initiatives, and develop high potential employees.
  • Develops fundamental knowledge of business units, including customers, competitors, products, markets and key business metrics.
  • Gains exposure to manufacturing environments through regular visits to business unit plants.
  • Special projects as requested.


Scope

This position scope is specific to a client group/groups.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in human resources or related field; and

  • 3 or more years of experience as a human resources generalist, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven time management skills; ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks effectively.

  • Results-oriented with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyrequired to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally, required to sit.

  • May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.

  • The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noise levels to loud.

  • Proper personal safety equipment needs to be used while performing this job, and that equipment is dictated by the plant safety guidelines.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock, vibration, non-hazardous chemical agents, and outside weather conditions.

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
