AI Integration Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking an AI Integration Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 24+ month contract opportunity.

In this role, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact for Software Engineering, contributing to AI-first initiatives by integrating AI models, agents, and services into existing and new applications. The ideal candidate will support projects centered on practical AI use cases, including automation, decision intelligence, and intelligent user experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with the technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
• Build and integrate AI agents that interact with internal systems, data sources, and business workflows
• Partner with product, engineering, and platform teams as AI capabilities are scaled across the organization
• Participate in the transfer and modernization of existing technology spaces as they move toward AI-enabled solutions
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Requirements:

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education
• Strong interest and hands-on experience in AI, beyond traditional application development
• Experience building, deploying, or integrating AI solutions and capabilities (e.g., agents, models, APIs, orchestration layers) into production applications
• Core Java, J2EE, Design Patterns
• Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate
• RESTful API development and microservices architecture
• Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Unit Testing experience (JUnit, PowerMock) and BDD experience
• CI/CD experience using Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, or similar
• Database experience with MongoDB (NoSQL) and Oracle / MS SQL (RDBMS)

Desired skills:

• GenAI expertise
• Strong Java/Python programming experience for GenAI workflows, experimentation, and integration
• 1+ years of practical experience building and deploying applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, Embeddings and vector databases, or Agent frameworks
• Experience with APIGEE or similar API management platforms
• Experience with ReactJS and Redux
• Exposure to financial APIs, PSD2 standards, and Open Banking frameworks

Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour
