Responsibilities

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors this April as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.

We are seeking a Manager - Environmental Services (Full-Time)

The Manager of Environmental Services/Housekeeping provides oversight of the Environment Services/Housekeeping department. The Manager will provide assistance to the Director of Environmental Services/Housekeeping with implementing and sustaining a fiscally responsible and measurably effective, housekeeping and linen program across the hospital. The manager is expected to be a key part of a leadership team that produces a clean, hygienic, and safe environment that is patient-centered, sustainable (i.e. employs "green cleaning" and integrated pest management), aligned with customer demands, and yieldsgreat results measured by patient satisfaction scores and internal key performance indicators within the approved budget.Responsible for maintainingcompliance with policies and procedures, and applicable Federal and District regulations to include, but not limited to EPA, DDOE, DOH and OSHA.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or comensurate experience required.
  • At least two years (2) of leadership experience; leadershup in an Envrionmental Services leadership position preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hospital envrionment preferred.
  • Experience working in a union environment preferred.
  • Experience using LEAN or other similar performance improvement methods to transform operations preferred.
  • Must complete CHRMC Hazardous Materials Training for Generators within 60 days of hire.

  • stron oral and written communication skills.
  • Stategic planning skills.
  • Ability and experience to interact as a business partner to other departments and executives within the hospital and with external customers/partners.
