Technical Manager, Server SoC Platform Emulation

THE ROLE:

We are seeking apassionate, resultsdriven, and innovative engineering leader to manage, lead, and develop an SoC Platform Emulation team. This team plays a critical role across both presilicon and postsilicon phases, working closely with Design, Firmware/Software, and PostSilicon Validation teams to shift left postsilicon validation into the presilicon emulation phase.

The team is responsible for endtoend HW+FW coverification, validating design and firmware together on platformlevel emulation environments. By identifying design, firmware, and systemlevel issues early, the team enables higherquality silicon, faster postsilicon bringup, and reduced postsilicon validation cycles, ultimately accelerating timetomarket and improving product robustness.

As a leader, you will drive crossfunctional collaboration, define execution strategy, build and mentor a highperforming engineering team, and deliver scalable emulation workflows that supportrapid silicon validation and longterm platform success.

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate is a passionate, technically strong, and executionfocused engineering leader with the ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries. They demonstrate:

  • Strong systemlevel thinking and technical judgment
  • Proven people leadership, mentoring, and teambuilding skills
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive crossfunctional alignment
  • Comfort operating in fastpaced, milestonedriven environments
  • Clear communication skills with both technical teams and senior leadership

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, manage, and develop an SoC Platform Emulation engineering team responsible for presilicon and postsilicon enablement across multiple SoC programs.
  • Own and drive HW+FW coverification strategy on platform emulation environments to identify design, firmware, and systemlevel issues early in the development cycle.
  • Partner closely with Silicon Design, Firmware/Software, BIOS, and PostSilicon Validation teams to shiftleft postsilicon validation into presilicon emulation.
  • Establish execution plans, priorities, and success metrics aligned with program milestones, tapeout schedules, and validation readiness.
  • Drive validation planning and execution for each SoC program to achieve program breakthroughs and readiness goals.
  • Review execution status, validation coverage, risks, and mitigation plans across multiple programs, and drive issues to closure.
  • Provide technical leadership and systemlevel guidance, leveraging broad SoC and platform knowledge to resolve complex technical and crossfunctional issues, even where daytoday ownership resides with IP technical leads.
  • Lead and participate handson in debugging complex systemlevel problems, demonstrating strong problemsolving skills and technical judgment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in emulation infrastructure, workflows, coverage, and debug efficiency to improve product quality and reduce postsilicon bringup time.
  • In partnership with global validation leaders, identify, define, and implement improvements to postsilicon validation methodologies to increase efficiency, predictability, and product quality.
  • Develop and drive the strategic direction for validation automation, based on team needs and program requirements.
  • Manage a team of approximately 10 engineers, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and technical and career development.
  • Communicate execution status, risks, and outcomes to crossfunctional partners and leadership in a clear, concise, and datadriven manner.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience leading systemlevel or platformlevel SoC emulation, or Pre Si verification/validationin a semiconductor environment.
  • Strong understanding of SoC architecture, firmware/BIOS flows, and system software interactions.
  • Handson experience with presilicon emulation platforms like Zebu, EP2, Palladium and understading of postsilicon validation environments to shift left post si workloads to emulation
  • Proven background in HW+FW coverification or integrated system validation.
  • Experience working across global, multisite engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated success driving shiftleft validation strategies or reducing postsilicon bringup cycles.
  • Prior peoplemanagement experience, including hiring, mentoring, and performance development.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with execution discipline and delivery focus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline preferred
