About the Job

Position Summary:

This posted position is for an NIH Stroke Trials Network ("StrokeNet") Research Fellow at the University of Minnesota. StrokeNet research fellowship applications are reviewed, approved, and funded by StrokeNet with local mentorship provided through the Upper Midwest Regional Coordinating Center at the University of Minnesota. It's the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)/NIH initiative to conduct Phase I/II and III trials in stroke prevention, treatment and recovery. This network of 27 regional centers across the U.S., which involves approximately 500 hospitals in the U.S., is designed to serve as the infrastructure and pipeline for exciting new potential treatments for patients with stroke and those at risk for stroke.

The StrokeNet Research Fellowship has an established curriculum and responsibilities that must be completed in conjunction with StrokeNet and the University of Minnesota. This position is temporary at a .75 FTE with an end date of June 30, 2027.

Duties/Responsibilities:

100% - Specific NIH StrokeNet Research Fellowship roles and responsibilities include:
(e.g., submitting a research synopsis, presenting research, and grand round attendance)

  • Submit an original research project proposal to StrokeNet for review and approval.
  • Conduct original research including data management, statistical analysis, and publication/presentation of those finding.
  • Complete educational modules and coursework relevant to the approved research project.
  • Formally present research project and prepare project for publication upon completion.
  • Attend all StrokeNet Grand Rounds and Career Development Lectures.
  • Contribute to the screening, recruitment, and retention of participants enrolled in StrokeNet clinical trials.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have been awarded NIH StrokeNet Fellowship.
  • MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical healthcare experience related to the field of Vascular Neurology
  • Proficient at EPIC
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20.60/hr - $25.25/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
