What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a highly strategic property tax leader to help modernize and scale Tesla global property tax and economic incentives programs. This role focuses on transforming property tax from a compliance function into a strategic value driver by leveraging technology, automation, and AI driven process innovation.

This position will serve as a strategic partner across Tax, Finance, Accounting, Operations, Site Development, and Government Affairs to maximize financial outcomes from property tax strategy, economic incentives, and operational process improvements.

This is a unique opportunity to help build next generation property tax infrastructure supporting Tesla rapid manufacturing expansion and long-term operational efficiency.


What You'll Do
  • Lead end-to-end strategy for property tax abatements, grants, and economic development incentives
  • Partner with Government Affairs to negotiate favorable terms, ensure compliance with capital investment and job creation metrics, and extend the long-term value of incentive agreements
  • Design and implement standardized tracking systems for incentive obligations, reporting deadlines, and performance metrics
  • Reduce dependency on external consultants by building scalable internal processes and governance frameworks
  • Develop proactive strategies for complex manufacturing portfolios, identify assessment risks before valuation notices are issued, and lead appeals
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and Operations to ensure accuracy and consistency in fixed asset data, valuation inputs, and compliance filings
  • Deliver strategic tax risk assessments, financial forecasts, and scenario analyses to support capital investment planning, site selection, and executive decision-making

What You'll Bring
  • 10+ years of corporate property tax experience
  • Experience managing complex industrial or manufacturing portfolios
  • Experience with economic incentives and government agreements
  • Strong understanding of cost, income, and market valuation approaches
  • Experience driving process improvement or technology adoption
  • Ability to operate independently in fast growth environments
  • Strong executive communication skills
