Clinical Nurse II- Duke Children's at Creekstone

Job Summary:

We are seeking aClinical Nurse IIin ourDuke Children's Specialty Creekstoneclinic located inDurham, NCto be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs (including manual blood pressures), administering survey tools, conducting educational assessments (patients/guardians), medication review, assisting patients with preparing questions for provider visit, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting.
  • Completing procedural tasks including administering allergy skin tests, measuring and interpreting allergy skin test results, oral immunotherapy, oral medications, oral food challenges according to protocols and provider orders. Monitor patients for potential reactions to therapy administered. Provide patient/family education, bill for nursing procedures. Administering specialty medication injections. Full assessments as needed. Monitor patients for potential reactions to therapy administered. Provide patient/family education for specialty injections and assess
  • Documentation of medications, vaccines, assessments in electronic health record.
  • Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.



Job Eligibility Requirements:



  • Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
  • All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date.
  • Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
  • Twelve months of pediatric experience is required.
  • Ability to push/pull at least 200 pounds in a wheelchair/stretcher
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 20 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
