Deputy Coroner

Eagle County Government is hiring for a full-time Deputy Coroner to join the Eagle County Coroner’s Team.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in forensic investigations, public service, and supporting families during difficult times.

The hiring pay range is $30.21–$36.25 per hour, plus additional on-call compensation of $35 for weekday call-outs, $52 for weekend call-outs, and $72 for holiday call-outs.

The position follows a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week and includes approximately 8–10 on-call shifts per month, along with administrative duties.

Key responsibilities for this role include investigating deaths that fall under the office’s jurisdiction, identifying deceased individuals and notifying next of kin, assisting with autopsies and forensic procedures, and maintaining proper chain of custody for evidence and photographs.
