Position Summary
Computer Science is looking for students who are interested
in applied research, technology for social good, and real-world measurement of
networked systems. Responsibilities to include: work on a web-based tool for
supporting community coordination efforts; assist with designing and conducting
experiments on network performance and internet accessibility; conduct
literature reviews and summarize findings related to digital equity, network
access and tool usability.
Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.



Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and communicate findings
clearly.
Interest in (or prior exposure to) working with local communities and/or
schools, as well as Human-Computer Interaction topics.
Experience programming in Python, JavaScript or similar languages.
Familiarity with web development frameworks, especially React.
Coursework or practical experience in networking systems and/or design of
large programs.
