Job Summary

The Inspector is responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and completed products, including electronic units, electromechanical assemblies, mechanical components, and subassemblies. This role utilizes established inspection methods, technical specifications, and precision measuring tools to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements. The ideal candidate has experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or precision assembly environments and is skilled in blueprint reading and hands-on inspection processes.

Job Responsibilities



  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and completed products, assemblies, and subassemblies.
  • Inspect electronic units, precision electromechanical assemblies, mechanical units, and structural components for defects, flaws, and missing welds.
  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, torque tools, scales, dial indicators, and related inspection equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, customer specifications, inspection instructions, and checklists to verify product compliance.
  • Accept, reject, or identify products requiring rework based on inspection findings and quality standards.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support quality assurance activities and verify compliance with statistical process control and other quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve inspection and quality-related issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety and quality protocols.


Job Requirements



  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, electromechanical, precision assembly, or QA/QC environments preferred.
  • Hands-on experience using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, torque tools, scales, and dial indicators.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience performing physical product inspections in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and documentation practices.
  • SAP and VECAMS experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and nonconforming materials or components.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Stable work history preferred.
  • US Person status verification required.
  • Ability to obtain required security clearance.
  • Ability to work onsite in support of space systems manufacturing operations.


Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)



  • This is an onsite position supporting space systems operations near the Stennis/New Orleans area.
  • First shift 4/10 work schedule.
  • Potential opportunity for full-time employment conversion based on performance and business needs.
