Job Summary
The Branch Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall performance, growth, and operational success of the branch. As a member of the leadership team, this position balances day-to-day operational oversight with strategic decision-making to achieve revenue, profitability, safety, and customer satisfaction goals. The Branch Manager assumes full ownership of branch operations, personnel leadership, financial performance, and client relationships while ensuring alignment with organizational standards, policies, and long-term objectives.

Job Responsibilities




  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and accountability for branch operations and performance.



  • Manage and develop branch personnel, including administrative staff, project managers, and union technicians.



  • Recruit, onboard, justify, and expand staffing levels to support operational and growth needs.



  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching and mentorship, and support employee development and career progression.



  • Foster a culture of workplace safety and ensure adherence to all safety programs, policies, and procedures in the office and on job sites.



  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations, ensuring effective coordination and utilization of resources.



  • Maintain responsibility for branch financial performance, including revenue, profit, overhead, and cost controls.



  • Monitor project execution, including project progress, profit and loss, work-in-progress reporting, and general and administrative expenses.



  • Maintain awareness of the status of all active projects and address issues that may impact delivery, quality, or profitability.



  • Ensure timely submission of all required documentation, including invoicing, billing, payroll, and project reporting.



  • Manage office facilities, vehicle fleet, tools, and equipment, including budgeting, forecasting, and asset planning.



  • Collaborate with other branch leaders, division managers, and department heads to deliver integrated, turnkey solutions.



  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships while identifying opportunities for new services, solutions, and revenue growth.



  • Serve as a primary liaison with clients, suppliers, industry partners, and union representatives.



  • Support sales and business development efforts, including customer meetings, estimates, proposals, scopes of work, and vendor coordination.



  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and vendor requirements to support reseller programs and certifications.



  • Ensure corporate policies, procedures, and standard practices are communicated and consistently executed throughout the branch.



  • Address employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions, in accordance with policies and labor agreements.



  • Keep senior leadership informed of operational, financial, or project-related issues with potential business impact.




Job Requirements




  • Proven leadership experience managing branch, operational, or business unit functions.



  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, profitability, and operational costs.



  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams.



  • Knowledge of project-based operations within technical, construction, or service-oriented environments.



  • Experience working with union labor and managing labor relations.



  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.



  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accountability and results.



  • Proficiency in business, operational, and reporting tools required to manage branch performance.




Work Experience




  • Progressive management experience with responsibility for operations, personnel leadership, and financial outcomes.




Additional Job Details




  • This is a full-time, on-site leadership role requiring regular office and jobsite presence.
