Full Job Description:

We are seeking experienced and safety-focused Tree Climbers to join our company!! As a Tree Climber, you will access trees at height and safely remove hazardous limbs, prune for health and aesthetics, and perform removals when necessary. This role requires physical strength, technical skill, and an unwavering commitment to safe work practices. You will assess tree health and hazards, coordinate with your crew, and use climbing equipment, powered tools, and aerial devices to accomplish work with efficiency and care.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small tree crew during jobs; assign tasks and oversee safe operations.
• Climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other fall-arrest systems to perform cutting and pruning.
• Use chainsaws, handsaws, and pruning tools to remove dead, obstructive, or excess branches.
• Perform directional felling and limb removal to protect property and public safety.
• Operate or assist with aerial lifts, bucket trucks, cranes, and woodchippers as required.
• Remove debris, lower large limbs safely, and load material for disposal or chipping.
• Maintain tools and equipment: sharpen chainsaws, clean gear, and perform basic inspections.
• Reshape and prune trees to improve structure and aesthetic form; treat shrubs and palms appropriately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines and local regulations.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of tree climbing or arboriculture experience preferred; training available for motivated individuals.
• Comfortable and experienced with power tools including chainsaws, aerial lifts, and woodchippers.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow direction, and work cooperatively in a crew environment.
• Strong attention to safety, ability to carry and lower heavy limbs, and stamina for outdoor work.
