Position Summary

The Paving Foreman is responsible for supervising and directing daytoday asphalt paving activities on assigned projects. This role leads paving crews in the safe, efficient, and quality installation of asphalt in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and company standards. The Paving Foreman serves as the primary field leader on the job site, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality expectations are met.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise paving crews, including equipment operators, laborers, and truck drivers
  • Plan and execute daily work activities to meet production and schedule goals
  • Assign tasks, set expectations, and monitor crew performance
  • Coordinate equipment usage and material needs for daily paving operations
  • Enforce Barrett Paving Materials' safety policies and procedures
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately
  • Communicate daily progress, production quantities, and issues to the Superintendent
  • Coordinate with truck drivers, plant personnel, and support teams
  • Interface professionally with inspectors, engineers, and other trades on site
  • Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance or repair needs
  • Ensure proper use and care of paving equipment and tools
  • Assist with material yields and efficient use of asphalt and supplies
Qualifications

Required

  • 3-5+ years of experience in asphalt paving operations
  • Prior experience as a Foreman or Lead Operator preferred
  • Strong knowledge of paving equipment, methods, and materials
  • Ability to read and understand basic plans and specifications
  • Commitment to job site safety and quality workmanship
  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel within the MidWest Central Region

Preferred

  • DOT, municipal, or commercial paving experience
  • Experience with GPScontrolled paving or advanced paving technologies
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus
