Position Overview

The Patient Support Services Department (PSSD) serves as the front line of the NIH Clinical Center, delivering exceptional customer service, patient registration, appointment coordination, and travel support.

As a Medical Support Assistant, you will act as a trusted guide for patients and families navigating complex clinical research visits-ensuring accurate registration, smooth scheduling, clear communication, and a welcoming experience at every interaction. This is a longterm, fulltime position in a nationally respected healthcare environment.

What You'll Do:
    Serve as the Face of NIH Clinical Center
  • Manage Scheduling & Patient Flow
  • Support Admissions & Patient Travel
  • Provide Essential Clinical & Administrative Support

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong clerical and administrative skills (scheduling, data entry, records management)
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm in highvolume, patientfacing environments
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English

Preferred:
Experience in a healthcare, clinical, or medical office environment.
