The Solutions Architect leads the design of advanced endtoend architectures for complex, highimpact initiatives. This role serves as a strategic technical leader, partnering with business and IT stakeholders to design advanced, endtoend solution architectures for complex, highimpact initiatives across Revenue Management, Invoicing & Controls (RMIC). The Solution Architect collaborates across organizational boundaries to ensure alignment to enterprise strategies and provide technical leadership across multiple initiatives. The position contributes to driving architectural excellence across the business unit and guiding teams through strategic transformation.

This role plays a key part in driving transformation across Agile Release Trains (ARTs), large programs, and business-withtechnology initiatives. Serving as a Solution Architect within Revenue Management, Invoicing & Controls (RMIC), this position focuses on long-term architecture and strategy for enterprise pricing, rating, invoicing, and settlement platforms. Daily responsibilities include partnering with business and IT architects to assess impacts, decompose and analyze strategic initiatives, and define architectural guidance for programlevel and crossfunctional teams. The architect will shape solutions, address complex system interdependencies, and work closely with enterprise and domain architects to ensure cohesive architectural strategy across FedEx.

Under limited guidance, work at the business unit level developing the end-to-end solution architecture for significant initiatives in partnership with key business and IT stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  • Exposes current state architecture and identifies options for future state architecture.

  • Works closely with business and IT stakeholders creating solutions that balance competing interests and concerns.

  • Develops plans for and facilitates the migration from current to selected future state by providing technical leadership to multiple initiatives.

  • Mentor those in less senior positions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide conceptual and technical guidance, defining and applying architectural patterns in collaboration with enterprise and solution architects.

  • Develop strategic roadmaps that support the transition to a target future state aligned with business and technology priorities.

  • Analyze complex problems or proposals and provide clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise strategies, business objectives, standards, and methodologies.

  • Identify and communicate both strategic and tactical solution options, influencing and negotiating with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Work flexible hours as needed to support global or regional stakeholders.

  • Present architecture concepts and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical executive audiences.

Skills and Knowledge Considered a Plus

  • Experience defining and implementing information architecture, principles, and standards.

  • Prior leadership of application architecture initiatives.

  • Background in project management, systems analysis, and solution design.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency with Enterprise Architect (Sparx) for planning, modeling, and governing architecture.

  • Experience working in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.

Additional Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of highavailability, resiliency, and disasterrecovery patterns.

  • Understanding of observability and reliability engineering concepts.

Work Location

This is a hybrid position located in Memphis, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
