This role is responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis, developing and managing budgets, evaluating company and business performance, and assessing economic impacts. They collaborate with team members on projects and workstreams within the department and across the organization. Sound judgment, excellent problem solving, organizational skills and a proactive attitude will position the successful candidate to earn a rewarding opportunity with this fast-growing company.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The FP&A Senior Analyst will provide wholistic financial management of a portfolio of renewable assets that are owned in partnership by AES and minority partners. Duties will include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Own monthly and quarterly deliverables required by JV Investors and Bondholders for assigned portfolio

  • Coordinate Board meetings and support any request made by the partners

  • Monthly forecasting of EBITDA and CAFD, annual budgeting, identifying financial risk and opportunities, working with asset management and operations leaders to optimize financial performance

Core Competencies:

Candidates need excellent problem solving, time management, communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a demanding team environment. They should also possess the following competencies:

  • Self-starter with strong analytical and time management skills

  • Demonstrated capability to advance multiple projects with competing deadlines

  • Effectively influence stakeholders without direct authority

  • Experience with financial modeling in excel

  • Excellent communication skills and able to present business drivers to leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience in preparing and coordinating budgets, forecasts, and related financial reporting.

  • Experience in the Energy sector preferred

  • Experience with SAP, BPC, Anaplan or a similar planning tool.

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) including experience with financial reporting, forecasting and analysis across the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.

  • Fluent in English (required); proficiency in Spanish is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or a relevant field

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $83,000 and $99,450/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes annual bonus.
