Job Summary and Responsibilities SUMMARY: Assembles and builds-out telecommunications devices or assemblies that are mechanical or electro-mechanical in configuration; typically containing a rack or cabinet, shelves, back planes, rectifies, heat baffle assemblies, surge protection panels, AC panels, alarms, cabling and other associated telecommunications devices. These assemblies may be fully populated and complex in nature and are assembled with attention to detail and quality needed to meet or exceed KGP and customer expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:
Must understand and follow KGP Safety practices.
Qualifications QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School graduate or GED equivalent or a minimum of two years documented assembly work experience. Requires demonstrated ability to learn and understand basic electromechanical processes. Must have ability to learn to read and understand technical drawings, schematics and documentation; must have the ability to learn electrical color codes. Must have a minimum of two years of AWT Assembler I time in grade or documented proficiency before eligible for promotion to AWT Assembler 2. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read a limited number of two-and-three syllable words; to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; and ability to print and speak simple sentences. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers, to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
