Join us as a Pipeline Construction Specialist who will be responsible for creating, developing, and managing pipeline construction governance standards across projects in Canada and the United States. The specialist ensures adherence to company standards and best practices by contributing to the development and continuous improvement of governance documents and technical guidelines.

What You Will Do:

  • Create, develop, and manage pipeline construction governance standards for Canada and the U.S.

  • Offer expert guidance and technical support to project teams on pipeline installation methodologies, welding, NDT and pressure testing.

  • Participate in project health checks to ensure compliance with Company standards and industry regulations.

  • Collaborate with project teams to promote best practices and continuous improvement in pipeline construction methods.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to drive project success and compliance.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant US and Canadian codes, standards, and safety regulations.

  • Support the implementation and use of a digital project delivery tool, with a particular focus on the traceability of welding, NDT, pipeline material and inspection daily reporting processes.

Who You Are:
  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a closely related field is preferred; however, equivalent combinations of post-secondary education, diplomas, and relevant experience will also be considered.

  • A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience supporting capital projects in pipeline construction, welding, and inspection.

  • At least 3 years' experience developing and maintaining governance documentation, procedures, standards, and training materials is necessary.

  • In-depth knowledge of pipeline construction, welding processes, inspection methods, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).

  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements in both the United States (e.g., PHMSA) and Canada (CER).

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and to exert influence without direct authority.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills are required.

  • Demonstrated expertise in applicable pipeline construction codes and standards such as CSA Z662, API 1104, ASME B31.4 and B31.8.

  • Experience participating in audits and implementing quality assurance programs in compliance with company and industry standards.

  • Experience with digital project delivery platforms and daily reporting systems for construction, welding, and inspection activities.

Working Conditions:
  • Approximately 90% Office Environment-vs-10 % in a field, home office or operating facility and outside operations in all types of weather.

  • Air travel within Canada and US, occasional local travel driving rental vehicle (10-20%).

  • Often multiple competing priorities.

  • Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration.

  • The noise level in the work environment may be above 90 dBA.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:
  • Ranges from $100,000 - $150,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
