Responsibilities

Cedar Hills Hospital has an opening for a Nurse Manager in our dynamic mental health facility.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. They will provide safe and effective nursing care in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Cedar Hills Hospital and within the framework of established policies and procedures of the Nursing Department.

An ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership ability, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, verbally and written. They will have the knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, limit setting, behavior management, and crisis management of aggressive behaviors. Thorough knowledge of the Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements and be at an intermediate level with the Microsoft Office Suite.

This position assists in contributing to the hospitals philosophy, objectives, educational and Performance & Improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff assigned to their unit.

Cedar Hills Hospital is a 98-bed behavioral health hospital and outpatient services program that serves adults facing an acute behavioral health crisis related to issues of mental health, substance abuse and substance use disorder, as well as co-occurring disorders related to these circumstances. Our programs aim to provide lasting mental health rehabilitation through programs that re-establish a high quality of life.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, required. Master's degree, preferred. Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing, or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management;
  • A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in Behavioral Health or related field.
  • Currently licensed to practice by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • This position may be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
