General Description: The CT Technologist II Independently performs routine and complex CT examinations, applying established protocols while exercising sound clinical judgment to adapt techniques based on patient condition and diagnostic requirements. Utilizes advanced knowledge and skills to function as a competent, independent technologist, performing a full range of CT exams and adjusting protocols based on patient condition and clinical indication to deliver safe, highquality, and efficient patientcentered care in routine and emergent settings. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physicianordered exams to support appropriate imaging. Safely administers contrast per protocol and identifies, manages, and escalates contrast reactions and changes in patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to recognize imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures independently or under guidance. Effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support clinical outcomes and service standards. Demonstrates competence in performing operatorlevel quality control checks, cleaning, highlevel disinfection, and routine equipment maintenance in compliance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements. Accurately transfers images and associated data to designated systems, completes technical documentation, and prepares studies for physician reporting. Accurately document in EMR/PACS Actively participates in continuing education, professional development, and research initiatives to maintain competencies and advance quality of care and treatment practices. Actively supports onboarding processes and serves as an informal mentor to staff and students. Actively contributes to protocol optimization and dose reduction efforts in collaboration with the care team. Demonstrates the ability to exercise independent judgment in accordance with approved protocols. Participates in the preparation and presentation of inservice training pertinent to the assigned service area. Performs and/or assists with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned. Assists with ordering and maintaining inventory to ensure adequate supplies are available
General Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Associate's Degree required. Experience: At least 3 years of CT experience required. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ARRT(RT)(CT) certification is required upon hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, CT imaging principles, and radiologic terminology. Applies corelevel primary specialty theory and techniques to independently perform CT exams, complete postprocessing and image analysis, and accurately annotate study data and procedure documentation with minimal guidance. Ability to prioritize and independently complete clinical and nonclinical work assignments with limited direction. Communicates effectively through verbal and written means to convey accurate, timely information and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members. Ability to prioritize and independently complete clinical and nonclinical work assignments with limited direction, applying sound judgment to manage workload, competing priorities, and changing demands. Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations, independently adjusting priorities and maintaining focus in fastpaced or changing environments. Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy Knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards. Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others. Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled. Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs. Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes. Ability to work and solve problems with limited supervision. Ability to train and mentor others.
