Database Administrator

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior SQL DBA - Hybrid for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to support high-profile, critical applications. The successful candidate will focus on migration and build projects, specifically migrating from SQL 2016 to SQL 2022, as well as handling business-as-usual (BAU) optimization, support, and troubleshooting. This position requires a strong background in database design, performance tuning, and customer interaction with frequent weekend work and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex databases, often using new technologies
• Manage multiple, moderately complex projects and support special initiatives or operations
• Support projects focused on SQL 2016 migrations to SQL 2022
• Provide SQL business-as-usual (BAU) support for core business functions
• Support M365 applications and their migration from on-premise to online, including SharePoint Online
• Perform frequent troubleshooting and proactive stability maintenance
• Handle on-call responsibilities and after-hours work, including frequent weekend work

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience with SQL Server Administration
• Expertise in AlwaysOn performance and tuning, including for large high-tier environments
• Comfortable using Query Store for troubleshooting
• Proficiency with SSDS, SSIS, and SSRS
• Familiarity with Linux environments
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite
• Must be available to work weekends as required

Desired skills:

• Experience with Redis, Dynatrace, TigerGraph, or Splunk
• Prior DBA experience in the financial services industry

Pay range: $55.13 - $63.13 per hour
