Salary range:
The salary range for this position is $93,700 - $121,400. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position may include membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation. The Department is currently recruiting for up to two (2) In Residence faculty positions for researchers who will participate in teaching; research and creative work; academic activity; university and public service in an academic medical center environment. This is largely a grant-supported position. The Department provides excellent opportunities for teaching, mentorship and other academic interest The appropriate step of the Assistant Professor In-Residence appointment will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. * Candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree and at least 5 years post-doctoral research experience in cardiovascular physiology. * Demonstrated ability to carry out successful, extramurally funded research with evidence of current grant funding as PI or Co-Investigator and high-impact research publications. * A high level of expertise in cardiac electrophysiology methods, including patch-clamp or cellular fluorescent imaging, high-speed optical mapping, and in vivo and ex vivo ECG analysis. * Experience with developing, maintaining, and characterizing animal models of cardiovascular disease in both rodent and non-rodent species. * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively as a teacher, including classroom teaching experience and evaluations. * Ability to contribute to University service and strong evidence of prior academic and community service activities and leadership.
