Building on our past. Ready for the future

Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

Purpose of the role

The Concrete Superintendent plays a critical leadership role in delivering safe, high-quality, and efficient concrete construction execution across major energy, chemicals, and resources projects. The role provides on-site direction for all concrete activities, ensuring that work is planned, coordinated, and executed in alignment with project objectives, engineering requirements, and Worley's commitment to operational excellence and sustainable delivery.

In support of Worley's purpose of delivering a more sustainable world and its ambition to be a global leader in sustainability solutions, this role ensures that foundational civil and structural works are executed with precision, safety, and efficiency. The Concrete Superintendent contributes directly to the successful delivery of complex infrastructure that enables customers to transition toward lower-carbon energy systems while continuing to meet today's energy and resource demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all field execution activities related to concrete construction, ensuring safe, disciplined, and high-quality delivery of work including formwork, reinforcement installation, concrete placement, finishing, and curing activities. Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications, and established workface planning requirements.

  • Drive safe execution of all concrete operations in alignment with Worley's HSE expectations, proactively identifying hazards and ensuring that safe systems of work are consistently applied across all field activities. Promote a strong safety culture that supports Worley's commitment to delivering projects responsibly and sustainably.

  • Oversee workface planning and sequencing of concrete activities, ensuring that materials, equipment, inspections, and workforce resources are aligned to support efficient and predictable project execution. Coordinate closely with project teams to ensure readiness for pours and critical construction milestones.

  • Monitor and manage workforce productivity, ensuring effective allocation of trade crews and forepersons to maintain construction progress and support project schedule objectives. Support the development of craft capability through guidance, coaching, and reinforcement of best practices in concrete construction.

  • Ensure high standards of quality control across all concrete works, verifying that installations meet design intent, technical specifications, and required construction tolerances. Support inspection and testing activities and ensure timely resolution of non-conformance issues.

  • Collaborate with engineering, construction management, quality, and project controls teams to resolve field challenges, support constructability improvements, and maintain alignment between design intent and field execution. Contribute to integrated, data-informed decision-making across project delivery teams.

  • Provide leadership and direction to field personnel, ensuring clear communication of expectations, work methods, and execution priorities. Support resolution of field-level issues and foster a collaborative working environment that enables strong team performance.

  • Apply advanced understanding of construction systems, methods, and tools to support troubleshooting, improve execution efficiency, and contribute to continuous improvement of field practices and delivery approaches

Qualifications / Skillset
  • Applicants will bring extensive experience in concrete construction within large-scale industrial, infrastructure, energy, or EPC project environments. A strong foundation in field supervision and construction leadership is essential, typically developed through many years of progressive experience in trade and site leadership roles.

  • A deep technical understanding of concrete construction methods is required, including formwork systems, reinforcement installation, embedded items, concrete placement techniques, finishing processes, and curing requirements. The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents is essential to ensure accurate field execution.

  • Strong leadership capability is required, with demonstrated experience directing multiple crews in a dynamic construction environment. The ability to coordinate work activities, manage competing priorities, and maintain productivity under schedule pressure is critical.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to engage effectively across multidisciplinary project teams, including construction management, engineering, quality, and subcontractor personnel. The role requires the ability to influence, resolve conflict, and maintain alignment across field operations.

  • A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental performance is required, with the ability to actively promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements in high-risk construction environments.

  • Experience working within EPC or large-scale capital project environments is highly valued, particularly within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors. Familiarity with construction planning tools, field execution systems, and productivity tracking methods is an advantage.

  • Candidates will demonstrate strong organizational capability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ability to operate independently while maintaining alignment with broader project objectives is essential.
