What to Expect
Reporting to the Technical Program Manager, you'll provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and discharging services for Tesla's energy products, including batteries and other storage systems. Ideal candidates have experience in electrical installation and servicing of energy storage systems.
What You'll Do
- Perform maintenance on storage systems to prepare them safely for recycling or remanufacturing
- Respond to emergent energy storage system cases, accurately updating online logs while adhering to Tesla and industry safety standards
- Collaborate with the Operations Engineering Systems Reliability team to follow case directions, provide requested data, and write reports for failure analysis teams
- Prioritize conflicting work requests and escalations
- Coordinate safe storage, discharge, and shipping of batteries with warehouse staff; participate in disaster relief and first responder training
- Maintain accountability for issued vehicles, tools, electronics, software, and company property
What You'll Bring
- 1+ year experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting energy storage systems, or safely working with live electrical systems
- Proficiency in NEC codes for energy storage installations and knowledge of NFPA 70E practices
- Ability to stay organized and independent in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines; comfortable with minimal oversight, independent decision-making, calm emergency handling, and excellent customer service
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and applications (e.g., time tracking, case management)
- Physical ability to work at heights, climb ladders/stairs, lift heavy objects, stand for long periods in extreme weather (hot sun to below freezing); bend, stoop, crawl in confined, dusty, or low-light spaces
- Collaborative team player able to travel up to 75%; compliant government-issued ID for domestic air travel or federal facility access, valid driver's license
