Description

  • Institutes and oversees implementation of Maintenance Program including but not limited to creating, vetting, implementing and updating plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other relevant processes and procedures in conjunction with current work processes; handles scheduling, planning, and timely execution of all maintenance procedures.
  • Leads and directs teams within areas of responsibility in order to operate plant safely, in compliance with regulatory requirements, within budget, and according to company expectations.
  • Monitors and directs work activities within areas of responsibility, ensuring work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and that areas of responsibility are maintained in a neat and orderly condition. Ensures compliance with company plant and safety rules.
  • Maintains overall budgetary responsibilities for areas of responsibility; ensuring compliance with budgetary requirements, coordinating with others as appropriate, and communicating issues of budgetary significance to Site Leader, Controller and others as appropriate; track key performance indicators (KPIs) including cost savings initiatives
  • Participate in incident investigations as required, including reporting incidents to appropriate personnel or regulators in a timely manner, completing required documentation, recommending and implementing corrective actions, and communicating findings as appropriate.
  • Trains and coaches team members in efficient work procedures, safe work practices, and good housekeeping practices. Coaches and encourages development and growth of skills and abilities.
  • Executes maintenance tasks, establishes priorities and sequences for activities. Coordinates maintenance activities with other departments and personnel as necessary to maximize operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, within budget and according to customer needs.
  • Develops and monitors the maintenance budget and annual investment (capital) plan
  • Coordinates the inspection of machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Establishes and maintains PM programs.
  • Evaluates the efficiency of working procedures, manpower and equipment utilization, and cost control measures. Recommends and implements actions to improve efficiency. Track and analyze operating data.
  • Monitors, reviews, prepares and analyzes reports and data to identify trends, root cause analysis (RCA), or non-compliance; recommending and implementing corrective actions accordingly.
  • Works effectively with Team Members at all levels of the organization within areas of responsibility, consulting with HR, Department Manager, corporate resources or other parties as necessary
  • Manages larger plant projects (expense and capital) including planning and scheduling materials, labor and other resources necessary, coordinating activities with the Capital group as appropriate to complete project on time and on budget
  • Conducts regular facility inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with all safety protocols. Inspects and reviews maintenance activities to monitor compliance with all safety regulations, permits, and company policy
  • Works with appropriate resources to maintain compliance with appropriate federal, State and local HES regulations, reports and notifies appropriate plant personnel of any deviations per established standards.
  • Promotes and enforces a proactive safety culture where every Team Member is accountable for safety.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs daily maintenance activities and resource allocation to optimize productivity and minimize downtime. Directs maintenance activities when unplanned downtime occurs, coordinating activities with other groups as appropriate.
  • Manages maintenance contractors on-site; monitoring activities to ensure work is completed safely and correctly.
  • Serves as a technical resource to maintenance team, providing regular field presence and support
  • Manages all aspects of warehouse and inventory activities for the plant including but not limited to spare parts inventory, critical spares, MRO, and consumables in conjunction with Plant Purchasing Coordinator/Buyer and corporate Procurement team.
  • Work collaboratively with procurement to ensure that materials and services are obtained in accordance with appropriate company policies and at lowest total cost of ownership.
  • Works with warehouse and purchasing groups to authorize materials and supplies required to complete maintenance work and ensure proper spare parts inventory levels
  • Assist in personnel actions such as hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Experience with a CMMS system required. Maximo system experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, motor controls, conveyor systems, machine shop practices, and other industrial maintenance skills. Ability to read schematics and blue prints. May also have knowledge of programmable logic controls.

Qualifications
Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering or similar discipline from college or technical school; 10 years progressive experience in heavy industry or plant-related operations including at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role directly leading craft workers; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong financial management understanding for budget management and cost control. (required)
