Qualifications EDUCATION Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology; Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology completed. EXPERIENCE Minimum of two (2) years as a clinical speech language pathologist in a large medical center-based practice preferred. Experience working with children and/or adults, depending on the assigned setting. Clinical experience with a variety of diagnoses to include post-surgical, developmental, neurological, genetic, oncologic, and traumatic. Home care experience is preferred. LICENSURE Must maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in CT. A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance are required when using a personal vehicle for company business. Access to a dependable vehicle in order to travel to multiple stops a day. CPR certification is required and must be maintained. Candidates who do not have certification are required to obtain it within 3 months (90 days) of hire. SPECIAL SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplines. Must be adaptable, flexible, able to learn quickly, and use critical thinking skills. Strong computer skills. PHYSICAL DEMAND Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which includes heavy lifting, extensive bending, administering CPR, patient bracing, standing, and stairs.
